Frequently Asked Questions

Cloud storage providers can use VXG to monetize their untapped storage capacity by launching a high margin, end to end, VSaaS offering. When combined with your cloud storage, VXG's Cloud VMS software platform enables your customers with full cloud video recording, live viewing, and management clients and creates a new high-margin B2B and/or B2C service from what is otherwise commodity storage to generate steady recurring revenue (ARR).
Yes. VXG has native support for both native AWS S3 object storage, as well as all S3-compatible object storage solutions (e.g. Wasabi, Backblaze B2, MinIO or a private custom object store). Our video streams are recorded to your object store using common, open-standard video file formats allowing for maximum throughput, long term scalable retention with no vendor lock-in.
Yes, VXG provides a clean and intuitive directory/bucket organization for your recorded media, enabling storage providers and end-users to access their recorded video in 2 main ways:
  1. Direct access via Object Storage Browser: Standard formats ensure recorded clips & images can be read and manipulated from the storage bucket directly.
  2. Through VXG’s VMS UI and Web/Mobile SDKs: Utilize the power of VXG’s advanced web UI and native mobile applications (iOS/Android) to stream, browse timeline, add event marks, retrieve video quickly and manage records.
Handling the amount of video ingested for large deployments will put a toll on traffic. VXG provides modes of recording to save bandwidth and storage:
  • Continuous vs. Event-based recording: choose between continuous cloud recording 24/7 or triggered event based recording (motion, AI events, line crossing) that dramatically cuts down on the storage usage.
  • Dual-streaming / Sub-streams: use low bit-rate sub-streams for live viewing, and high-resolution streams for cloud archiving.
  • Smart Edge to Cloud archiving: buffer video on the edge locally (SD Card or gateway) if there are periods of bandwidth throttling or connection failure. The storage is uploaded to the cloud once the connection becomes available.
Absolutely, totally 100% white label. We supply a completely white label infrastructure to offer a Cloud VMS web interface, back-office admin interfaces and iOS and Android native mobile apps. We allow access through open REST APIs and SDK to seamlessly integrate the video into your existing cloud dashboard or user portal where your clients will clearly see your branding throughout.
