Wyze Camera: Default Login Credentials
Wyze cameras are built as a very easy, mobile app managed solution for home security with an emphasis on cloud connectivity. IP security cameras are typically controlled through a web interface with a static account and password while Wyze cameras are built as a first class mobile app solution that greatly alter the way the camera will be accessed and operated. If you're searching for default IP addresses or default login credentials, you're in the wrong place! Wyze uses account login credentials to allow the customer to access cameras rather than static IP addresses and passwords.
Default IP
Wyze cameras are set to DHCP initially, so they get their IP address from your network or wireless router. And their default IP addresses would typically be within one of these subnets 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x (subnet depends on your network).
Wyze devices do not have a default IP address, because Wyze connects to the internet as quickly as possible and attempts to contact with Wyze's servers. Users normally wouldn't need to find the local IP address as the device will be viewed via the app instead of a website.
If needed, you can identify the camera on your network by:
- checking the router connected device list
- using a network scanning tool
- looking for the device name associated with Wyze hardware
Local access is limited, and many models do not provide a traditional web interface.
Default Username
There is no default username login for Wyze cameras like other IP cameras. When you set up your Wyze camera, you sign in with a Wyze account. Your default login is your Wyze account name, which is the email address you used when setting up your account.
This means:
- no shared default username across devices
- each user has a unique login based on their account
- multiple users can be granted access through app permissions
This model improves security and simplifies device management, especially when multiple cameras are installed.
Default Password
There is no password for Wyze cameras by default. Users create a password when they sign up for their Wyze account, which is then used to log into the app and access all of the cameras on that account.
Important points about password usage:
- password is created during account registration
- no factory default password exists
- password resets are handled through the Wyze app
Because authentication is account-based, changing the password affects access to all devices linked to that account.
Default Port
Wyze cameras rely on outbound encrypted connections to communicate with cloud servers. They do not require open inbound ports or manual port forwarding. Most communication happens over secure protocols.
Common ports involved include:
- 443 - HTTPS communication with Wyze servers
- 80 - used in limited cases for initial setup or fallback
- dynamic ports - used internally for video streaming
Since the camera connects outward to the cloud, it works seamlessly behind routers and firewalls. This design makes remote access simple and reduces the need for network configuration.
