ADT Security Login: Default IP, Username, Password, Port

ADT is one of the most recognized names in home and business security, offering professional-grade systems that include smart cameras, sensors, and monitoring services. Whether you’re setting up a new camera or troubleshooting a network connection, it’s important to know the default network settings used by ADT Security devices. These details make it easier to connect, configure, and secure your cameras during installation or after a factory reset.

Default IP Address

Most ADT IP cameras use the default address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 when first powered on and connected to a local network. This address allows your computer or router to detect the device before you assign it a custom IP. If you’re unsure which IP your camera is using, you can use a network scanner tool or the ADT Pulse app to locate it. Once detected, it’s recommended to change the IP to match your home network’s range for stable operation.

Default Username

The default username for ADT cameras is typically admin. This account has full system privileges, allowing you to access all settings including video quality, network configuration, and user permissions. During the first login, ADT may prompt you to create an additional user or modify the default admin credentials for enhanced security.

Default Password

The default password for most ADT camera models is either 12345, admin, or blank (no password). In some cases, especially with smart home models linked to ADT Pulse or Command platforms, you’ll be required to set a password immediately during the initial configuration. Changing this default password is critical — keeping the original can expose your system to security risks, especially if remote access is enabled.

Default Port

ADT cameras commonly use port 80 for HTTP access and port 37777 for TCP communication. Port 80 allows you to reach the camera’s web interface using a browser, while port 37777 handles data transfer between the camera and the recording system. When setting up remote access, you’ll need to configure port forwarding on your router for these ports. For extra protection, it’s wise to change the default ports and enable encrypted connections whenever possible.

FAQs

To reset an ADT camera, locate the small reset button — usually found near the power or Ethernet connection. Press and hold it for about 15 seconds while the camera is powered on. When the device restarts, it will return to its original default settings, including IP, username, and password.
Yes. Within the camera’s network settings, you can change the HTTP and TCP ports to custom numbers. This helps reduce exposure to network scans and improves overall security.
If you’ve lost your camera password, the only option is to reset the device to factory defaults. After resetting, you can log in using the default credentials and set a new password of your choice.
If your camera isn’t accessible through the default IP, it might have been assigned a new one by your router. You can check your router’s connected device list or use the ADT mobile app to find the current IP address.
