Clare Controls Camera: Default IP, Username, Password, Port

Clare Controls cameras, including the ClareVision and ClareVision Plus product lines, are designed for quick installation and integration into modern security systems. Knowing the default network settings is crucial for first-time setup, troubleshooting, and restoring a camera to factory configuration. This guide explains the default IP address behavior, login details, and ports for Clare cameras, along with answers to common questions.

Default IP Address

ClareVision cameras generally come with DHCP enabled by default, which means they automatically obtain an IP address from your router instead of using a fixed address. However, certain ClareVision Plus models will use the default IP address 192.168.1.64 if DHCP is disabled or unavailable. This allows direct connection to a computer for configuration when a network is not present.

Default Username

For most ClareVision cameras, the default username is simply admin, and it is not case-sensitive. ClareVision Plus cameras, on the other hand, use clareadmin as the default username. These credentials are used for the initial login before a custom password is created during setup.

Default Password

The default password for standard ClareVision cameras is the first six characters of the camera’s unique serial number (UUID), which can be found on the device label or packaging. The password is case-sensitive. ClareVision Plus cameras use the password Secure7519 until changed by the user. For security reasons, both camera types require the password to be updated upon first login.

Default Port

ClareVision Plus cameras typically use port 8000 for management and configuration access. Standard ClareVision cameras usually rely on the standard HTTP port 80 for browser access unless modified by the user or installer during setup.
