Hunt Camera: Default IP, Username, Password, Port
Hunt cameras are widely used in both residential and commercial security setups due to their reliable performance, decent image quality, and flexible network features. Like many IP-based security cameras, Hunt models come with factory-default network and login settings, which are important to know during the first setup. These defaults are designed to make the initial connection process quick and simple. However, they should be changed after installation to maintain security and prevent unauthorized access.
Default IP Address
Most Hunt IP cameras are preconfigured with a default IP address of 192.168.1.10. This allows users to connect directly to the camera using a computer on the same local network. If your network uses a different IP range, you may need to temporarily adjust your computer’s IP settings to match the camera’s range for the initial configuration. Once connected, the IP address can be changed to fit your local network requirements.
Default Username
By default, Hunt cameras typically use admin as the username. This account has full administrative privileges, allowing you to change network settings, adjust image parameters, and manage users. Since the default username is widely known, it’s advisable to create a new administrative account or at least change the password immediately after the initial setup.
Default Password
The default password for Hunt cameras is often left blank (no password) or set to 123456. This default setting makes it easier to log in for the first time but poses a significant security risk if not updated. It is highly recommended to replace the default password with a strong, unique one as soon as possible to prevent unauthorized access to your camera feed and settings.
Default Port
The default HTTP port for most Hunt cameras is 80, which is the standard web access port. If you plan to access your camera remotely via port forwarding, you may want to change this port to something less common to reduce the risk of automated scanning and hacking attempts. Additionally, Hunt cameras may have separate ports for RTSP streaming and ONVIF communication, which can be found in the camera’s network settings menu.
