Illumivue Camera: Default IP, Username, Password, Port

When setting up an Illumivue camera for the first time, you’ll need the factory default login information to access the system. These details are important because they allow you to connect the device to your network, adjust settings, and begin recording. Many installers and users run into difficulties at this stage if they do not know the default credentials. Below, we’ll cover the default IP address, username, password, and port used by Illumivue cameras, along with some helpful tips to make installation smoother.

Default IP Address

Illumivue cameras typically come with the default IP address 192.168.1.108. This makes it easier to detect the device on a standard local network. If your router uses a different range of addresses, you may need to temporarily set your computer’s IP to the same range in order to reach the camera. Once connected, it’s best practice to change the IP address so that it matches your network and avoids conflicts with other devices.

Default Username

The default username for most Illumivue cameras is admin. This is the account you’ll use the first time you log into the camera. Because it is a widely known default, creating a unique username after setup is strongly recommended to strengthen security.

Default Password

The password that comes preset on Illumivue cameras is usually 123456. In some cases, the camera may ask you to set a new password upon the first login, depending on the firmware version. If the default password does not work, performing a factory reset should restore it. For security, always replace the default password with a strong and unique one as soon as possible.

Default Port

Illumivue cameras use port 80 by default. This is the standard port used for web access through a browser. Some models may also support RTSP streaming, which generally uses port 554. If you are planning to connect remotely, you might want to change the HTTP port from the default setting, as leaving it unchanged can expose the camera to unnecessary risks.

FAQs

If the default IP address does not work, use the Visualint discovery tool or check your router’s device list to find the camera. You may also try resetting the camera to restore factory settings.
Yes. Most Visualint cameras have a physical reset button. Holding it for around 10–15 seconds usually restores the factory default username and password.
You do not have to, but changing the default port adds a layer of security, especially if you plan to access the camera remotely over the internet.
Start by changing the default username and password, update the firmware to the latest version, and place the camera on a secure network with a strong firewall.
