TDSS Camera: Default IP, Username, Password, Port

When installing TDSS cameras for the first time, knowing the factory default network settings is essential. These details allow users to log into the device, adjust configurations, and integrate the camera into a surveillance system. If you are setting up a new unit or restoring one to its original configuration, the following information provides the default values that make the process easier.

Default IP Address

TDSS cameras are usually shipped with the default IP address 192.168.1.88. This is a private IP designed for local network access. If your local network operates on a different range, you may need to temporarily change your computer’s network settings to match the camera’s subnet before logging in.

Default Username

The default username for most TDSS cameras is admin. This account has full administrator privileges and provides complete control over video settings, user management, and security parameters. It is strongly recommended to change this default once the camera is running to reduce security risks.

Default Password

By default, the password is often set to admin or left blank depending on the model. A blank password means you can log in by entering only the username. Since default credentials are widely known, changing the password after the first login is critical to prevent unauthorized access.

Default Port

The default HTTP port for TDSS cameras is 80, which allows access to the camera’s web interface through a browser. Some models may also use port 554 for RTSP video streaming. If remote access is required, users often change the port settings and configure port forwarding on their router for secure external connections.

FAQs

If the default IP does not work, the camera may already have been assigned a different address by a DHCP server. You can use a network scanner to locate the device or reset it to factory defaults to restore the original IP.
Most TDSS cameras have a small reset button that must be held for about 10–15 seconds while the camera is powered on. After release, the device will restart with its factory IP, username, and password.
No, leaving the camera with its default login credentials is unsafe. Attackers often exploit default accounts to gain unauthorized access. Always change the password to something strong and unique.
After logging into the web interface, navigate to the network configuration section. From there, you can assign a custom port number. If the camera is accessed remotely, remember to update router settings to match the new port.
