Visualint Camera: Default IP, Username, Password, Port

When installing a Visualint camera for the first time, many users face the same challenge: figuring out the factory default settings that allow access to the device. These details are important because without them, you cannot log in to the web interface or connect the camera to your security system. Understanding the default IP address, username, password, and port will make setup easier and help avoid unnecessary troubleshooting.

Default IP Address

By default, Visualint cameras typically come preconfigured with the IP address 192.168.1.108. This address is assigned so that the camera can be detected quickly on a local network. If your router uses a different range of IP addresses, you may need to adjust your computer’s network settings or use Visualint’s configuration tool to locate the camera. After the initial login, it is always recommended to change the IP to one that fits your network structure to avoid conflicts.

Default Username

The factory-set username for Visualint cameras is usually admin. This is a standard login name used by many security camera manufacturers, making it simple to remember during the first access. However, because this is common knowledge, you should create a new username once the camera is online to improve security.

Default Password

The default password for most Visualint cameras is 123456. Some models may require you to set a password during the first login for better protection. If the password does not work, resetting the camera to factory settings can restore the original credentials. As with the username, changing this password immediately after setup is one of the most important steps you can take to secure your camera.

Default Port

Visualint cameras are designed to communicate over port 80 by default. This is the standard HTTP port used by web browsers to access the camera’s interface. In some cases, you may also need to configure additional ports for remote viewing or video streaming, such as RTSP (usually port 554). If you are planning to access your camera from outside your local network, it is best practice to change the default port number for added security.

FAQs

If the default IP address does not work, use the Visualint discovery tool or check your router’s device list to find the camera. You may also try resetting the camera to restore factory settings.
Yes. Most Visualint cameras have a physical reset button. Holding it for around 10–15 seconds usually restores the factory default username and password.
You do not have to, but changing the default port adds a layer of security, especially if you plan to access the camera remotely over the internet.
Start by changing the default username and password, update the firmware to the latest version, and place the camera on a secure network with a strong firewall.
