Hanwha Wisenet Default IP, Password & Port List
Professional and corporate video surveillance systems often use Wisenet cameras, appreciated for their robust design, impressive functionality and secure firmwares. If you have set up a Wisenet/Hanwha camera and want to monitor live video on its web-interface, or set up recording through an NVR (Network Video recorder) and VMS (Video Management system), it is helpful to know basic network details. So let’s see what are the default IP address, username, password and port number for these cameras and look at some practical usage tips.

Devices manufactured under this brand and some others adhere to similar patterns of login credentials. But keep in mind that in newer camera models the network setup is configured according to the new standard security and you’ll need to log into the cameras, then enable and set-up the login and passwords yourself. We’ll try to cover both old and new schemes. Let’s have a close look at the Wisenet/Hanwha default network parameters.
Default IP
Factory-default IP address for traditional Wisenet IP cameras is 192.168.1.100. This gives the installer easy access using a direct connection via laptop or on the local network when first connecting the camera. If the camera and the PC are in the same subnet, entering the address into a browser will show the login screen.
Key points about Wisenet default IP behavior:
- Default static IP is typically 192.168.1.100.
- Subnet mask is usually 255.255.255.0.
- Gateway is often blank until configured.
- Many newer models switch to DHCP if a DHCP server is detected.
If the camera does not respond at the default IP, it may have obtained an address from a router. In that case, discovery tools such as Wisenet Device Manager or ONVIF discovery can locate it on the network.
Default Username
The factory username for the older Wisenet cameras is admin. This username can be granted full access to the camera to enable device configuration, firmware updates and video settings. This username and password is then changed by installer upon setup.
The modern firmware updates set the default username as admin, but require a password to be created during initial login on the device, so that there cannot be any unathorised login due to the default username.
If the device takes directly to a screen allowing you to create the password and does not appear to be allowed in initially, it's initial setup mode.
Default Password
Legacy Wisenet devices often shipped with a blank password for the admin account. In practice this means:
- Username: admin
- Password: (leave empty)
However, blank passwords have been removed in the modern security policies and in the current models, it demands to create the strong password when the first connection is performed; in many cases it must be satisfied by password policy (minimum character number, diversity).
Default Port
Wisenet cameras use standard network ports for web access and video streaming. The default HTTP web interface port is 80. This allows login via a browser using the IP address alone, for example http://192.168.1.100.

Ports can be changed in the network settings for security or routing requirements. If the HTTP port is modified, the login address must include it, for example http://192.168.1.100:8080.
